Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information abeldawit.com collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: I collect only what's needed to send you the newsletter and resources, deliver what you buy, and reply when you get in touch. I never sell your information.

Who I Am

This site is run by Abel Dawit. You can reach me about anything in this policy at hello@abeldawit.com.

What I Collect

Newsletter and free resources. When you sign up for Scale on Autopilot or unlock a free resource, you give your email address, and your name if the form asks for it. I also note which form you used, so I know which resource brought you in.
Purchases. When you buy a paid resource, Gumroad collects your name, email, and payment details to process the order. I receive your name, email, and what you bought. I never see your full card number.
Sessions and meetings. When you book a 1:1 session through Topmate or a meeting through Calendly, those services collect your name, email, booking details, and anything you choose to share when booking.
Emails you send. If you email me, I keep your message and email address so I can reply.
Basic technical data. Like most websites, the site's hosting provider automatically logs standard request data, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit, to keep the site running and secure.
Analytics, only if you accept. If you click Accept on the cookie banner, Google Analytics records how you use the site: the pages you visit, where the visit came from, approximate location, and browser and device type. Google Analytics doesn't log or store IP addresses. If you decline, it doesn't load.

How I Use It

To send the newsletter and the resources you asked for.
To deliver purchases and provide access to what you bought.
To schedule and run sessions and meetings you book.
To reply to your messages.
To understand which posts and resources are useful, so I can make better ones.

I don't use your information for automated decisions about you, and I don't sell or rent it to anyone.

Services I Use

A few trusted services handle parts of this site. Each one processes your information under its own privacy policy:

Beehiiv: stores newsletter subscriptions and sends the emails. The sign-up forms on this site pass your email and the page you signed up from to Beehiiv.
Gumroad: product pages, checkout, and file delivery.
Topmate: booking paid 1:1 sessions.
Calendly: booking general meetings.
Cloudflare: hosts the site, runs the sign-up form, and keeps standard server logs.
Google Analytics: visit statistics, only for visitors who accept analytics cookies. Data is shared with Google for measurement only, not for advertising.

When I work with brands, I share only overall audience numbers, never your personal information.

Cookies

This site doesn't run advertising trackers. Its only cookies are Google Analytics cookies, set only if you click Accept on the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time with Cookie Settings at the bottom of every page. The Gumroad checkout window is provided by Gumroad and may use its own cookies to work properly, as described in its privacy policy. The Cookie Policy has the details.

How Long I Keep It

I keep your newsletter subscription until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it. Purchase records are kept as long as needed for delivery, support, and legal or tax obligations. Messages are kept as long as they're useful for our conversation. Google Analytics data is deleted automatically after 14 months.

Your Choices and Rights

Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with the link at the bottom of every email.
Access, correct, or delete your information by emailing hello@abeldawit.com. I'll respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the GDPR or California's CCPA, including the right to object to or restrict certain uses. Email me and I'll help.

Where Your Information Is Stored

The services above are based in the United States or store data there. If you're outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US.

Children

This site isn't directed at children under 16, and I don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has signed up, email me and I'll delete it.

Changes to This Policy

If I change this policy, I'll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, I'll let newsletter subscribers know.
